- Watercolor paper - 140# arches cold press or similar, high quality paper…1 ½ - 2 full sheets
- 1/2 Sheet Support Board
- Masking tape or white artists tape- for the techniques I will be working on, I like these: .
- wash brush 1” to 1½”,
- round 10,12 or14,
- flat…I like Winsor Newton 995 series either ¾ or 1”. I will have these for you to use or purchase from me so you won’t have to order it. I should have enough of the two sizes for the 20 students to each use one or the other. $18 for the ¾ “ and $25 for the 1” or I have a few to just use for those who don’t want to buy.
- Script or rigger = small brush for the ‘calligraphy’
- Paints = I use Winsor Newton for the most part. These are my frequently used paints: cobalt blue, ultramarine blue, Winsor blue, cerulean blue, Winsor green, sap green, aureolin, Winsor yellow, new gamboge, scarlet lake, Winsor red, perm magenta, burnt sienna, raw sienna Again, bring what you have or email me with any questions.
- Kneaded eraser and pencil
- Towel or Sponge
- Water containers 2
- Kleenex (pop up box)
- Spray bottle - continuous mist is great if you need to buy one, otherwise bring your usual fine mister spray bottle for watercolors
- Masking fluid- if you don’t have, we don’t use much so don’t go buy a bottle….you can share mine or maybe others.
- Leaves - to use in both techniques of painting…maple and grape work well. Pick just a day before and seal in a gallon ziplock bag, taking care not to bend or crease them as they lay flat.
